Make the most of this transitional season:

 

• • Warm up with a hot drink at the local café.  It’s hard to choose between the Woodstock Cafe and Flour & Water when you want a cup of Joe in a cozy setting, we recommend both.  If you’re down for a delectable treat, try the raspberry white chocolate mocha at Valley Pike Coffee Shop (formerly Nancy’s Coffee Shop) in Strasburg.  Looking for a smoothie on the south end?  Try Jackson’s Corner, where you can also shop for some fresh, locally roasted beans to take home and take the history tour while you’re in there!

• • Discover scenic trails as nature awakens for spring.  Part of the charm of Virginia are the random warm days that pop up in the middle of winter; those are perfect for getting out in nature without having to fight the bugs!  You can also get on the river (we don’t recommend getting IN though) and stay dry in a kayak without worrying about the low water levels of summer.

• • Get involved in a local group or organization.  From philanthropy to sports, there are countless organizations in Shenandoah County you can join and meet people who share your interests.
